Breaking News: 16 Arrested In Suspected Plot To Disrupt London Stock Exchange - Sky News Reports

Date 14/01/2024

A major police investigation has uncovered a potential threat to the London Stock Exchange. Sky News reports that a total of 16 individuals have been apprehended, including six alleged activists from the Palestine Action group.

The investigation was launched after a tip-off from the Daily Express, leading to swift action by the Metropolitan Police. It is believed that the activists planned to inflict damage and disrupt trading by "locking on" to the building.

Authorities wasted no time in taking action. A 31-year-old man in Liverpool was the first to be arrested, followed by five additional suspects later on Sunday. Among them were a 29-year-old woman in Brent, a 23-year-old man in Tower Hamlets, and two women aged 28 and 26 in Liverpool. A 27-year-old man was also apprehended in Brighton.
