BOX Named U.S. Options Exchange Of The Year - Recognized For Its Innovation And Price Improvement Processes

Date 12/07/2007

The Boston Options Exchange (BOX) announced today that it was named as the U.S. Options Exchange of the Year. The award was hosted by FOW, the global derivatives magazine. Winners were unveiled at an industry award ceremony in London last week. Scott Morris, BOX’s chief executive officer (CEO) accepted the award on behalf of the exchange.

“BOX was founded to be an innovator for options and bring real value to customers with cheaper pricing, faster speeds and outstanding execution quality,” said Scott Morris, CEO of BOX. “We are pleased to have been recognized for our contribution to the options world as seen in our over $110 million in savings to investors because of our price improvement model.”

The awards were created by FOW with a panel of outside industry experts as judges for each category. Judges were selected for their knowledge of the industry, expertise and ability to evaluate the nominations.

“The selection committee was impressed with BOX’s ability to shake-up the status quo and bring real value to the options world,” said Ben Wilkie, editor of FOW. “As penny classes are expanded and the industry evolves, we expect BOX to continue to grow its market share as it leverages its robust platform and offerings.”
