The net inflow of foreign investments in the Brazilian Stock Market accounted to USD 3,082,463,182.90 in 2008. This figure sums up the purchases of international investors in public offerings - which amounted to USD 7,062,195,686.50, as well as the net trading value at BOVESPA - which registered an outflow of USD 3,979,732,503.60, as of June 30, 2008.
In June, international investors’ total purchase at BOVESPA was USD 28,156,217,931.00 and total sales of USD 32,720,213,638.00. This balance totals a net outflow of USD 4,563,995,707.00.

Trading Value and Number of Trades
In June, the total trading value of BOVESPA was BRL 132.5 billion (or USD 81.9 billion).
The daily average was BRL 6.3 billion (or USD 3.9 billion) and the number of trades was 226,410. For comparison purposes, May registered BRL 7.0 billion (or USD 4.2 billion) as financial value daily traded with 260,256 trades.

The most active stocks in terms of trading value were:
- Petrobras PN (BRL 21.5 billion or USD 13.3 billion);
- Vale R Doce PNA (BRL 12.2 billion or USD 7.5 billion);
- OGX Petroleo ON (BRL 5.5 billion or USD 3.4 billion);
- Sid Nacional ON (BRL 4.0 billion or USD 2.5 billion) and
- Petrobras ON (BRL 3.8 billion or USD 2.3 billion).
In June, the International Investors’ stake reached 37% of the total trading value, compared to 35% registered in May. Individuals traded 24% of the turnover (against 28%), followed by Institutional Investors, with 26.3% (against 26.0%); Financial Institutions, with 9% (against 7%); and Companies, with 3%, (against 4%).

The Home Broker system reached the following performance in June:
- The daily average trading value registered BRL 1.4 billion
- The daily number of trades reached 129,889 (this figures consider all trades with one side, at least, executed via home broker).
- Total traded value amounted to BRL 28.4 billion
- 2.7 million total number of trades
- The average financial value per trade was BRL 10.4 thousand
The After Market totalled 71,305 trades and BRL 683,510,393.22 as financial value this month.
In June, BOVESPA’s market capitalization amounted to BRL 2.4 trillion (or USD 1.5 trillion) against BRL 2.6 trillion (or USD 1.6 trillion) in May.

Novo Mercado and Levels of Corporate Governance
The 163 companies listed at Level 1, Level 2 and Novo Mercado by the end of June represented 58% of BOVESPA’s total market capitalization, 66% of the trading value and 72% of the number of trades in the cash market.

The Cash Market was responsible for 93% of the total traded value in June, followed by the Forward (4%) and Options (3%) markets.

In June, IEE ended stable, at 19,166 points. Other indices closed the month down: ITAG (-12.6% at 7,968 points); IGC (-12.0% at 6,365 points); INDX (-11.7% at 10,592 points); IVBX-2 (-10.3% at 5,321 points); IBrX-50 (-10.2% at 9,795 points); ISE (-10.0% at 2,031 points); IBrX-100 (-9.9% at 21,694 points) and ITEL (-6.8% at 1,253 points).
In June, 2 FDIC (Receivable Investment Fund) started to trade at BOVESPA Fix and SOMA Fix Markets. The trading value of BOVESPA’s fixed income markets turned over BRL 13,172,407.31 (or USD 8,093,031.80).
Out of this total, BRL 6,910,483.23 (or USD 4,243,492.90) referred to FIDCs and BRL 6,261,924.05 (or USD 3,849,538.70) to Corporate Bonds.

BTC, the Securities Lending Program of CBLC registered a turnover of BRL 37.7 billion in June, against BRL 31.7 billion registered in May. June registered 55.842 trades (against 49,687 in the previous month). These transactions represented 255 underlying securities (against 245 in May).
By the end of June, the CBLC registered 516,757 active individual investor custody accounts; by the end of May, this number was 486,706.
BOVESPA Popularization CampaignIn June, 90 new investment clubs have registered with BOVESPA. The year 2008 already counts on 538 new investment clubs. BOVESPA had 2,600 clubs registered as of June 2008. According to the last available data (May/08), the investment clubs’ total assets amounted to BRL 18.1 billion, with 153,039 investors.
