“The CGZ has been successfully launched,” said Glenn Goucher, Vice-President, Business Development of the Montréal Exchange. “Volume traded on the first two days confirmed the level of interest expressed by the financial community during our pre-launch tour in Canada and in the United States.”
“The current interest rate environment in Canada should favor trading activity on the CGZ,” added Mr. Goucher. Our contract also benefits from the support of RBC Dominion Securities and TD Securities, who are acting as market makers.”
The CGZ is used by investors – Bond traders, Prop traders, Hedge Funds, Asset-liability managers, Bond portfolio managers, Treasuries – for managing, among others, book exposure, asset allocation and existing debt.
