Botswana Stock Exchange Privatisation News

According to local newspaper reports, Air Botswana is said to have fulfilled all the preconditions for privatisation. The International Finance Corporation (IFC) has been appointed to advise government on the privatisation of the national airline.

The Draft Privatisation Policy for Botswana emphasises the need for foreign participation in the privatisation process in line with government's policy of promoting Botswana as an investor friendly location for international companies. Other key features of the policy include citizen empowerment and employee and management buyouts.
