Boston Stock Exchange Promotes George W. Mann, Jr. To Executive Vice President And General Counsel

The Boston Stock Exchange (BSE) announced today that George W. Mann, Jr. has been promoted to Executive Vice President and General Counsel. Mr. Mann was formerly Senior Vice President and General Counsel.

"George is an integral member of our senior management team and his promotion is in recognition of his significant contributions to the Exchange," said James B. Crofwell, BSE President and Chief Operating Officer. He has played a key role in many of our successes since joining the BSE in 1986, and he is well prepared to lead our legal and regulatory areas moving forward." As principal legal advisor to the Exchange, Mr. Mann represents the BSE on several national committees, including the Securities Industry Conference on Arbitration, the Intermarket Surveillance Group, and the Intermarket Trading System Operating Committee of which he was recently appointed its chairman. He is also a member of the American, Massachusetts, and Boston Bar Associations.

Before joining the Exchange, Mr. Mann worked for the National Association of Securities Dealers Association(NASD) from 1980 to 1986 as Director of the Cleveland, Ohio district office. Prior to this position, he served as Assistant Director for the NASD Boston district office from 1975 to 1980, responsible for regulation of the over-the-counter markets for the New England region.
