Boston Options Exchange: Successful Spiders Launch And Record Weekly Volume

  • BOX Completed the first week of trading of options on Standard and Poor's Depository Receipts ("SPY") with a total of 203,780 contracts traded for an average daily volume of 40,756 and an estimated market share for the week of 25%
  • For the second consecutive week, BOX set a new record for total trading volume in a week with 1,192,450 contracts traded the five days ending January 14, 2005, and average daily volume of 238,490. BOX market share of the first two weeks of the new year is 5.5% of the total OCC volume in the 347 classes that BOX lists
