In the name of all Spanish stock exchanges and financial markets, BME states its firm condemnation of the brutal and miserable terrorist attacks perpetrated today in Madrid. BME also wishes to send its sincere condolences to the families of the victims of these terrible attacks and joins the pain of the whole of Spanish society.

Terrorism will not shake the Spanish people's trust in democracy and its institutions. The Spanish securities market reaffirms its commitment to the support of the values of freedom and democracy as the foundations of coexistence in a constitutional state, which are consistent with the principles they represent and define.

All personnel who work for the Spanish securities exchanges, financial markets and the securities industry are called to be present at the demonstrations that are being announced throughout the country to show their rejection of these acts tomorrow.
