Bolsa De Madrid Trades 44 New Warrants Issued By Société Générale

Bolsa de Madrid today began trading 44 new warrants issued by Société Générale. The underlying assets for the warrants are domestic and foreign shares and indices.

Among the warrants issued on foreign shares, it is worth mentioning the incorporation, for the first time in Spain, of 5 warrants the underlying assets of which are shares of PetroChina Company Limited ADR (American depositary receipt), one of China's major companies. Another ten warrants have been admitted to trading having Alcatel and France Telecom's shares as their underlying asset.

The Spanish shares that will act as the underlying assets for 10 warrant certificates are as follows: BBVA, Endesa, SCH and Telefónica.

As to the warrants issued on indices, 6 have been issued on the Ibex-35, 5 on the Dow Jones Eurostoxx-50, 5 on the Dow Jones Industrial Average and 3 on the Xetra Dax index.

Among the issues are call and put warrants, all of which work in the same way as American warrants. Their expiry dates are 17 September 2004 and 18 March 2005.

With these new admissions the number of warrants traded on the Bolsa de Madrid is now 1,295 and the number of underlying assets on which the warrants can be traded amounts to 40.
