Bolsa De Madrid To Trade 99 New Warrants Issued By SCH Investment - The Volume Of Premiums Traded On The Warrants Market In The First Nine Months Of The Year Reached € 1.279 Bn, Which Represents A 62 % Increase On The Same Period Last Year

As of 3 October, Bolsa de Madrid will begin trading 99 new warrants issued by Santander Central Hispano Investment. The underlying assets of the warrants are domestic and foreign shares and indices as well as interest rates.

The indices that will act as underlying asset for 18 warrants are as follows: 6 warrants on the Ibex 35, 4 on the Dow Jones, 3 on the Nasdaq, 2 on the Nikkei and 3 on the Eurostoxx 50.

The number of warrants that will be issued on Spanish stocks amounts to 60, the underlying assets of which will be as follows: Altadis, Amadeus, BBVA, Endesa, Gas Natural, Iberdrola, Inditex, Indra, Repsol, Telefónica, Telefónica Móviles and Zeltia.

The number of warrants that will be issued on foreign stocks are as follows: 4 on Deutsche Telekom and 5 on Nokia while 12 warrants will be issued on euro / dollar exchange rate.

The warrants issued will be call and put, all of them American style, with expiry date on 17 September 2004 and automatic execution by the issuer. With the incorporation of these warrants the total number of them listed on the market since the beginning of the year amounts to 637.

The volume of premiums traded on the warrants market from January to September 2003 is €1.279 bn, a 62 % increase on the same period last year.
