Bolsa De Madrid To Trade 56 New Warrants

As of October 17, Bolsa de Madrid will begin trading 56 new warrants issued by BBVA Banco de Financiación. The underlying assets of the warrants are domestic indices as well as domestic and foreign shares.

The 35 new warrants will be issued on the following domestic stocks: Altadis, Amadeus, SCH, Endesa, Repsol, Sogecable and Telefonica and 16 warrants will be issued on the following foreign stocks: ABN Amro, BNP Paribas, Royal Dutch and Societe Generale.

As for the warrants issued on domestic indices, 5 warrants will be issued on the Ibex-35 index.

Among the listed issues are call and put warrants, all of which work in the same was as the American warrants (i.e. they can be exercised at anytime any time until the expiry date of the warrant). The expiry date for all the warrants is 17 September 2004.

With the incorporation of these certificates, the number of warrants listed on Bolsa de Madrid to 1,398, of which 693 have been listed during the first nine months of the year. As for the type of warrant issued during this period 62.46 % corresponded to call warrants and 37.54 % to put.
