Bolsa De Madrid Begins To Trade 16 New Warrant Certificates - Bankinter Joins The Warrants Market As An Issuer

As of tomorrow, September 25, Bolsa de Madrid will begin trading 16 new warrant certificates issued by Bankinter, which will join the market as an issuer for the first time.

The new certificates will be issued on the Ibex 35 index and Telefonica's stock, which will become the underlying assets for the warrants. The certificates issued are European style, that is to say, their expiry date is on18 December 2003, and the issuer exercises them automatically.

Among the listed issues are 8 call warrants and 8 put, Mercavalor Sociedad de Valores y Bolsa being the assigned specialist for all certificates.

With the incorporation of these certificates, the number of warrants listed on the Madrid Stock Exchange since the beginning of the year amounts to 498. It is also worth mentioning the volume of premiums traded on the warrants market up to August 30, which amounts to € 1.160 bn, 69% up compared to the value of trading during the same period last year.
