Boerse Stuttgart Records January Turnover Of EUR 5,5 Billion - Equities And Bonds Show Significant Increase In Trading Volume Compared With December Figures

Based on the order book statistics, Boerse Stuttgart generated turnover of around EUR 5.5 billion in January 2019 – around 11 per cent more than in December 2018. Securitised derivatives made up the largest share of the turnover. The trading volume in this asset class was more than EUR 2.5 billion. Leverage products generated around EUR 1.4 billion. Investment products contributed EUR 1.1 billion to the total turnover.

According to the order book, trading in equities produced turnover of around EUR 1,1 billion – an increase of around 15 per cent compared to the previous month. German equities contributed EUR 729 million towards this total and international equities roughly EUR 328 million.

The monthly total for trading in debt instruments (bonds) was around EUR 944 million – around 35 per cent more than in December 2018. At EUR 713 million, the lion’s share of turnover in this asset class was attributable to corporate bonds.

Investment fund units contributed around EUR 132 million to the January total. Turnover shown in the order book from exchange-traded products (ETPs) was EUR 793 million.
