Boerse Stuttgart Group is reshaping its management team. With the new appointments, some persons will hold positions both on the Management Board of the Group’s parent organization, Vereinigung Baden-Wuerttembergische Wertpapierboerse e.V., and on the Management Boards of major subsidiaries. This will increase agility and efficiency within the Group. “With our high-powered management team, we are continuing to drive forward the strategy of Boerse Stuttgart Group, with the classical exchange business and digital business activities as two pillars on an equal footing. Both business areas are operating very successfully and have the operational freedom required to develop their markets. They will now be further strengthened with additional expertise from outside Boerse Stuttgart Group,” said Dr Christian Ricken, Chairperson of the Executive Committee of Vereinigung Baden-Wuerttembergische Wertpapierboerse e.V.
Dr Michael Völter will become Chairperson of the Management Boards of Boerse Stuttgart GmbH and EUWAX AG – in addition to his position as Chairperson of the Management Board and Chief Executive Officer of Vereinigung Baden-Wuerttembergische Wertpapierboerse e.V. Dr Völter is resigning his seat on the Supervisory Board of EUWAX AG at the same time.
Dr Matthias Voelkel will become Member of the Management Board of Vereinigung Baden-Wuerttembergische Wertpapierboerse e.V. with effect from 1 June 2021. He will be leading the digital business activities of Boerse Stuttgart Group and will become Chief Operating Officer. He will also become Chairperson of the Management Boards of Boerse Stuttgart Digital Holding GmbH – the parent company of the digital business – and of Boerse Stuttgart Digital Ventures GmbH. Dr Voelkel is moving from McKinsey, where he is Global Leader of the Capital Markets Infrastructure and Exchanges Practice.
Dr Manfred Pumbo will become Member of the Management Board of Vereinigung Baden-Wuerttembergische Wertpapierboerse e.V. and sit on the Management Boards of Boerse Stuttgart GmbH and EUWAX AG as of 1 July 2021 – as Chief Financial Officer and Chief Risk Officer. Dr Pumbo is moving from Wuerttembergische Versicherung AG, where he is General Agent for Controlling and Risk Management.
Stefan Bolle, who has been Chief Financial Officer of Boerse Stuttgart GmbH and EUWAX AG since 2016, is leaving Boerse Stuttgart Group as at 30 June 2021 by mutual agreement. “We thank Stefan Bolle for his outstanding work and the reliable and trusting cooperation over the years. We wish him all the best for the future, both professionally and privately,” said Dr Michael Völter.
Oliver Hans, Member of the Management Board of Vereinigung Baden-Wuerttembergische Wertpapierboerse e.V., is taking on the additional role of Chief Regulatory Officer with immediate effect. He also remains Member of the Management Boards of Baden-Wuerttembergische Wertpapierboerse and its operating company.
Dr Ulli Spankowski will become Member of the Management Board of Boerse Stuttgart Digital Holding GmbH. In this position, he will continue to perform his current role as Chief Digital Officer of the Group. He also remains Member of the Management Boards of Boerse Stuttgart Digital Ventures GmbH, Sowa Labs GmbH and blocknox GmbH.
The appointments are subject to the approval of the German Federal Financial Supervisory Authority (BaFin).
