BNP Paribas Asset Management (‘BNPP AM’) announces that its inaugural Community Impact Week will take place this week, 22-26 May, with employees globally encouraged to engage in volunteering activities and participate in community impact projects during their working time. It will take place in 20 countries and aims to involve at least a third of BNPP AM’s employees, benefiting more than 50 associations and voluntary organisations.
Community Impact Week aims to raise awareness among all employees about volunteering, while combining community impact with personal and professional commitment. Employees are able to choose between themes such as integration, the environment or the fight against exclusion, across activities including aid, food banks or the restoration of natural habitats, as well as workshops to help young people integrate into the labour market.
Community Impact Week is part of BNPP AM's corporate strategy and approach to Corporate Social Responsibility (‘CSR’), which includes broad initiatives throughout the year. It also complements the work carried out by the BNP Paribas Group, which offers employees at least one paid day off per year to engage in volunteering initiatives.
Chris Ouellette, Head of CSR at BNPP AM, comments:
"Volunteering is a tangible way in which our employees can have a positive impact on communities, enabling them to share their knowledge, try their hand at new things, and develop and refine their skills. Added to that the social connections they create, and it's a broad learning experience.”
Sandro Pierri, CEO of BNPP AM, comments:
"This week of volunteering also echoes our corporate culture, with diversity, equity, inclusion, sustainable development and training at the heart of our management strategy.”
Community Impact Week involves all levels of employees at BNPP AM, including its Executive Committee, whose members met on 10 May with young people from France’s Ecole de la 2nde chance1, including interview technique workshops, CV writing and experience sharing.
