BME: The Outstanding Balance On AIAF Hits A Record High, At €900 Billion

The outstanding balance of Spanish Corporate Debt listed on AIAF, BME’s Fixed Income market, posted a record high for the first time in its history, at €900 billion.

This reference decreased slightly in 2010 and then bounced back in 2011 to hit €901.51 billion yesterday. The previous record was registered in July 2009, at €889.80 billion.

The current record high has contributed to the favourable behaviour showed by the primary market, due in particular to new issues of commercial paper as well as to the significant volume of new state-backed debt issued by banks.
