BME: The ETFs Linked To The IBEX 35® Manage Assets Representing €2 Billion

In the first five months of 2014 the products linked to the IBEX 35 indices have experienced sharp increases, which have been reflected both in the volume of assets managed and in the number of licenses granted.

In the case of the Exchange Traded Funds in the Spanish stock market, "the assets managed by ETFs linked to the IBEX indices exceed €2 billion euros at the end of May, representing a 432% increase”, said Carmen Lopez, Head of BME Indices, during a seminar held today in Barcelona.

Today Barcelona holds a new edition of IBEX TRADING DAY, following the success of the previous meetings in Madrid. It consists of a conference organised by Société Générale and BME to showcase the range of traded products linked to the IBEX 35 indices that are available to the investor.

Among the speakers at the event were Carlos García Rincón, Head of training on Listed Products, SG, and Carmen López, Head of Indices, BME. Both reviewed the current market situation and described the wide range of listed products, with special emphasis on those linked to the Spanish selective index and listed on the Spanish stock exchange.

The trading volume of ETFs linked to the IBEX 35 to the end of May totalled €3.8 billion euros. In May, the trading volume stood at €438 million.
