BME: The 24th Latibex Forum Starts Next Monday, 21 November

  • The benchmark event on investing in Latin America returns to its original face-to-face format after two years
  • More than 45 European investors and a hundred listed companies will take part in the Forum, which will include panel discussions and one-to-one meetings.
  • Issues such as geopolitical tensions, ESG investment, digitalization and regional investment opportunities in Latin America will be discussed on the panels.

 

 

The 24th edition of the Latibex Forum will begin next Monday, 21 November. After two years of being limited by the Covid-19 pandemic, this highly regarded event on investing in Latin America returns to its face-to-face format. More than 45 European investors and 100 listed companies will attend the forum, in which more than 200 meetings are scheduled.

The Forum starts on Monday, 21 November at 16:30 h with an opening ceremony at the Madrid stock exchange, led by Javier Hernani, CEO of BME. Joining him on stage for the opening panel will be João Marques da Cruz, CEO of EDP Brazil; José Carlos García de Quevedo, Chairman of ICO, and Luis Isasi, Chairman of Santander Spain. Treasury Secretary General, Carlos Cuerpo will be the special guest on the opening panel.

During the following two days of the event, in addition to meetings between investors and companies, six panel discussions will be held. The first of these, entitled "Economic resilience and political risks in Latin America", will be moderated by Domingo García Coto, Head of BME's Research Department, and will be attended by Alejandro Padilla, Chief Economist at Banorte; Germán Ríos, Chairman of the Observatory on Latin American Politics and Economics at IE University, and Juan Cerruti, Chief Economist at Santander.

The other panel discussions on the 22nd and 23rd will deal with such topical issues such as the dual investment track between Latin America and Europe, the outlook for the energy sector, the classic round-table meeting of fund managers specializing in the region, ESG investment and the digital era in Latin America. All panels can be followed both in person and remotely.

As is the case every year, the Forum will feature leading Latin American companies in their sectors such as Alsea, Bradespar, Cox Energy, Grupo Financiero Banorte, ILC, Neoenergia and Quálitas Controladora, as well as Spanish companies with a presence in the region such as Acciona, BBVA, IAG, Iberdrola, Indra, Mapfre, Meliá Hotels, Repsol, Santander and Telefónica, among others.
