- More than 200 institutional investors, intermediaries and analysts will attend the event, which will take place in the Bolsa de Madrid palace
- The objective of the Forum is for investors, in particular non-residents, to get to know the evolution of Spanish midcaps, specifically their international presence
- The last session of the Forum will be devoted to the second gathering of companies and MAB investors
Over 75 Small and Medium Capitalisation companies listed on the Spanish stock exchange and more than 200 institutional investors, intermediaries and analysts will participate in the eighth MEDCAP Forum of Small and Medium Capitalisation companies, which BME will host from 30 May to June 1st , in Madrid.
Antonio Zoido, Chairman of BME, will welcome participants during the opening session and will be accompanied by Jaime García-Legaz Ponce, Secretary of State for Commerce. The main objective of the Forum is to allow investors, in particular non-residents, to gain first-hand knowledge from a set of companies that have proved, over the last few years, that their efforts and internationalisation strategies were right.
The second day will feature a keynote address by Iñigo Fernández de Mesa, Secretary General to the Treasury and Financial Policy.
Among the attendees will be Antón Pradera, Chairman of Cie Automotive; Millán Álvarez Miranda, CEO of Unipapel; Mikel Beitia, CEO of Natra; Alfredo Redondo, CEO of Amper and Javier Martín García, CEO of Tecnocom, together with a group of financial directors and IRs who will be representing their companies at the roundtables.
The programme combines roundtables on such different sectors and topical issues as: “internationalisation strategies that have proved right, the food industry as a defensive sector and differentiation, diversification and internationalisation opportunities for industrial companies, the pharmaceutical industry and their budgetary adjustment, the triumph of the low-cost concept, Spanish companies that lead internationally as well as the challenge of internationalizing “made in Spain” technology”, among others.
This year, for the second consecutive year, the Forum will feature a third session to incorporate smaller companies listed on MAB, which will be opened by Manuel Valle Muñoz, Director General of Industry and SMEs. On June 1st, investors and issuers will have the chance to express their views through three roundtables: new MAB investment vehicles, companies obtain recurring financing through the market, and transparency, communication and investor relations in MAB companies.
This gathering is part of a broader initiative by BME to boost the liquidity of these companies and facilitate their access to financing by increasing transparency and improving relations with the markets.
The main goal of the MEDCAP Forum is to have the chance, every year, of letting the main medium and small capitalisation companies in the Spanish market present and discuss their strategies with analysts and investors from Spain and the rest of Europe.
