BME: MARF Lists A New Green Bond From Grenergy For 170 Million Euros

BME’s fixed-income market, MARF, has listed a new Green Bond issued by Grenergy Renovables. This is the first issuance under the €250 million fixed-income programme registered by the company on March 13th.

Through this programme, Grenergy can flexibly issue new bond issues and tranches over the course of a year featuring different maturities and financial structures, which may be grouped according to their individual characteristics. The bonds admitted to trading have a total volume of €170 million, mature in 2030 and carry an annual coupon of 5%.

The issuance has been labeled as Green Bond in accordance with the “Grenergy Green Financing Framework” developed by the company in August 2021, under which Grenergy issues bonds and commercial paper following the Green Bond Principles (GBP) of the International Capital Market Association (ICMA) to finance or refinance, in whole or in part, existing or future projects that are expected to increase the share of renewable energy in the electricity pool and whose investments contributes to the advancement of the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals, specifically SDG 7.

Andbank España and Banca March acted as Placement Entities for the new bond.

Norgestion is Grenergy’s Registered Advisor on the MARF. Evergreen Legal served as legal advisor to the issuer and Ramón y Cajal Abogados to the underwriters. Bondholders is the Commissioner representing the investors.

Grenergy holds a BBB- rating with a stable outlook from the rating agency EthiFinance Ratings.

Grenergy Renovables is one of the leading companies to have utilized all the capital market financing options offered by BME. Its shares have been listed since 2015; the company was admitted to trading on BME Growth and completed its transition to the main market in 2019, and it has been a frequent issuer of fixed-income instruments, bonds and commercial paper, on the MARF Market over the past few years, where it carried out this market’s first Green Bond issuance in November 2019.
