BME, through its BME Market Data subsidiary, has launched new standardised end-of-day and historical data products, aimed at improving transparency and answering the research and regulatory compliance needs of its clients. For the first time, end-of-day market data is offered for all the markets operated by BME in a single format and at a global level.
The new service provides information on all financial instruments traded on the BME Markets (Equities, ETFs, Derivatives, Fixed Income, Warrants and Certificates) and includes information on closing prices and volumes, corporate actions, master data of the Spanish markets, including tick data service and positions. Besides, it provides comprehensive information on all BME-managed indices, its constituents and weightings.
The segmentation of data by type of instrument and the ability of BME Market Data to deliver the highest possible level of detail are crucial to answering the increasingly demanding needs of BME clients. This new product offering allows clients to rely on the necessary detail of information to automate such processes as the end of day valuation of portfolios, market research and development of indicators and the definition and backtesting of algorithmic trading strategies.
The products made available today for the financial community are aimed at all BME clients: intermediaries, analysts, investment managers, insurers, institutional investors and listed companies.
In the Reference Data category two new data products of great importance are included for the automation and control of processes: the BME Master Data daily file, that provides all relevant characteristics of the different instruments listed on BME, and the BME daily corporate actions file, that will include detailed descriptions of all financial corporate actions issued by all listed companies (such as capital increases, annual shareholder meetings, dividends, etc).
The Information business area has consolidated its position in the last few years as a major revenue source for exchange operators worldwide, such as BME. Building upon updates, new technology and the implementation of new information services and products, BME significantly strengthens this area, opening up new business opportunities and further diversifying its revenue sources.
