Antonio Zoido, Chairman & CEO of Bolsas y Mercados Españoles (BME), will tomorrow inaugurate the third MedCap Forum, which BME will host on May 30th and 31st.
In its third gathering, the Forum will have the presence of the main managers of 60 Medium and Small Capitalisation listed companies as well as over 200 national and European investors and analysts.
The agenda will alternate sectoral panels with round tables on such matters of public interest as instruments for investing in small and medium capitalisation companies, the responsibility of managers: outlook for corporate governance and private equity transactions in small and medium caps.
During the two-day Forum, bilateral meetings will take place between companies and investors, which will offer them deeper insight into these companies’ current situation and prospects.
Over the last few years the Medium Small and capitalisation companies have increasingly aroused the attention of the financial markets and generated greater visibility. In July 2005, BME created two new indices, the IBEX MEDIUM CAP® and IBEX SMALL CAP®, designed to gauge the performance of these companies.
The aim of this Forum is to improve the visibility and tracking of Medium and Small Capitalisation companies. They are trackable and tradable, that is, their calculation method will allow the issuance of financial products based on them, such as ETFs, index funds or derivatives products.
