From tomorrow until 29 May, the Palacio de la Bolsa de Madrid will host the 21st edition of the Medcap Forum, the benchmark meeting for small and mid-cap companies and investors, 24% of which are international, from countries such as the United States, Switzerland, the United Kingdom, Germany, Austria, Hong Kong, Italy, Portugal, Ireland, Malta, Finland and Poland. The 107 companies and 150 investors will hold more than 1,000 meetings.
Once again this year, the Forum will feature panel discussions with industry experts and professionals, as well as an extensive programme of meetings between companies and investors. These sessions are an opportunity to share strategies, fine-tune investment decisions and analyse portfolio composition.
Bjørn Sibbern, Chairman of BME and CEO of SIX, who is hosting this year's Forum for the first time, said: ‘Once again, this year's Forum will be a snapshot of how well the financial markets are developing in Spain and the strong relationships that are being built between small and mid-cap companies and investors. There is a clear will on the part of all market players to continue building a favourable environment for both companies and investors’
Juan Flames, CEO of BME, said: ‘Capital markets are the natural home for companies. We will continue to work to place the stock market at the heart of the country's economy. We are holding a new edition of the Medcap Forum with a very positive growth outlook for the market, companies and investors. So far this year, five companies have joined BME's growth markets and one more has joined the Bolsa. We are working every day to facilitate new IPOs and bring back the retail investor’.
