- This year's 17th Spring European Midcap Event will take place remotely and will have investors from France, United Kingdom, Germany and Switzerland
- Among the companies represented will be the newly listed Línea Directa and Ecoener, as well as several renewable energy, healthcare and biotechnology companies
The 17th edition of the Spring European Midcap Event will be held on 24-25 June. The event, which has traditionally been held in Paris, will this year have a virtual format due to the pandemic. During the two-day BME-led gathering, some thirty Spanish small and mid-cap listed companies will meet with investors, mainly from France, United Kingdom, Germany and Switzerland. The combined market capitalisation of these companies is close to 30 billion euros.
The aim of the meeting is to bring smaller companies from different European countries into contact with more than 90 investors interested in this corporate profile, with 45% of them coming from France and 15% from the UK. Through the private meetings scheduled, these top European investors will have the opportunity to get to know and learn more about these Spanish companies. During the gathering, each participating company from the main market will hold, on average, more than four meetings.
Companies listed on both the main market and BME Growth will be in attendance. Among them will be Línea Directa and Econener, the two corporations listed on the main market this year. Also taking part in the event will be companies from sectors such as renewable energy, health and biotechnology.
This international meeting adds to other habitual initiatives led by BME for companies listed on the Spanish market. In this case, the focus in particular is on small-cap companies, which already had the opportunity to meet Spanish and international investors during the last edition of the Medcap Forum, hosted by BME, and during which more than 1,300 private meetings were held.
This initiative is part of the BME 4Companies project, which aims to boost companies' liquidity and financing capacity by increasing transparency and fostering relations between these companies and the markets.
