BM&FBOVESPA is promoting the “International Sustainability Indexes Seminar – Analysis and Perspectives” today, to discuss the efficacy of the world’s sustainability indexes. The World Federation of Exchanges (WFE) will have representation at the event, as will all of the other indexes that are global reference points. The event will be opened by BM&FBOVESPA Chief Executive Officer Edemir Pinto and will take place from 8:30 am to 5:30 pm at the Abelardo conference room (1st floor, Rua XV de Novembro).
The event’s first panel will discuss the role of corporate sustainability indexes and will include presentations by Peter Clifford, the Deputy General Secretary of the WFE; Maired Hancock, the head of Client Services at EIRIS (a consultancy responsible for the sustainability indexes of the London and Johannesburg exchanges); and Mário Monzoni, professor at the GVces sustainability studies center of the Getúlio Vargas Foundation (FGV).
In the afternoon there will be the “five years of ISE: analysis and perspectives" panel, where International Finance Corporation´s Monitoring and Evaluation Lead for Sustainable Business Advisory Services, Baljit Wadhwa, will present results of an unprecedented study: “The BM&FBOVESPA Corporate Sustainability Index and Brazilian corporate responsibility practices”. She will share a stage with the coordinator of the GVces program, Roberta Simonetti, who will present results of the “Five Dialogs with ISE Stakeholders” that were carried out over the year.
The third panel, entitled “Debate with stakeholders” will bring together one representative from each of the Dialogs’ publics, as follows: Companies: Executive Director of the EDP Institute, Pedro Sigrado; Analysts, Investors, Managers and Shareholders: Santander Responsible Investment specialist, Maria Eugênia Buosi; Press: Folha de S.
