The Bahrain Financial Exchange (BFX), the first multi-asset exchange in the Middle East and North Africa (MENA) region, today announced that its Training Institute has received accreditation from the Institute of Leadership & Management (ILM). This will allow the BFX to deliver a range of accredited leadership and business courses aimed at developing financial services management skills in Bahrain. The ILM is the largest accreditation body based in the UK which has a network of over 2,000 centres worldwide, which are recognised as delivering high quality business and management qualifications.
Commenting on the announcement Mr. Arshad Khan, Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer of the BFX and BCDC, said: “We have always recognised that providing the highest standard of training through the BFX Training Institute (BFX TI) will be a very important part of our offer. Accreditation by the ILM is a great achievement for us and means that BFX Training Institute has an in-house training facility, focused on financial services management operating to international standards. This will be major benefit to the businesses in Bahrain as well as the wider GCC region.”
The BFX Training Institute aims to provide world-class training and educational courses covering both conventional and Islamic finance, which are on offer to individuals and corporates alike.
All ILM courses are designed to help managers increase staff efficiency and motivation and will ensure that businesses can run at optimum productivity levels.
“The role of training cannot be underestimated in this market” said Mr. Khan. “It will provide firms with a competitive advantage; delivering greater efficiencies and also help attract the best talent and people. Firms that want to succeed and deliver really understand the importance of investing in their employees and they also realise that this provides them with a commercial edge over their competitors. We are delighted that BFX Training Institute is going to be a leader in this important field.”
Mr. John Castledine, ILM’s Director of Learning Solutions said: “We look forward to working with the first multi-asset exchange in the Middle East to provide ILM programmes across a full range of leadership and management subjects. This will range from core qualifications in team leading to specialist programmes that will involve coaching, mentoring, social enterprise and various other programmes that can be tailored to the organizations requirements. The ILM qualifications start at entry level and rise incrementally to an equivalent postgraduate level. This allows employers to provide their staff with a structured progression route that will range from aspiring managers to senior executives”.
