Bats Promotes Tony Barchetto To Executive VP, Head Of Corporate Development

Bats Global Markets (Bats) today announced the promotion of Tony Barchetto to Executive Vice President, Head of Corporate Development, effective immediately.

With the promotion, Mr. Barchetto joins the Bats Executive Team, which includes CEO Chris Concannon, Bats Europe CEO Mark Hemsley and the following Executive Vice Presidents: Bryan Harkins, Head of U.S. Markets; Chris Isaacson, Global Chief Information Officer; Brian Schell, Chief Financial Officer; Tami Schademann, Chief Regulatory Officer; and Eric Swanson, General Counsel.

“I’m excited to welcome Tony to the Executive Team, providing an opportunity for him to have an even greater impact on the growth and direction of the firm,” said Mr. Concannon. “Bats believes in rewarding associates for outstanding performance and Tony has played a critical leadership role in a number of key initiatives to date, including the Hotspot acquisition which propelled us into the global foreign exchange market.

“Tony’s tremendous market structure knowledge and financial acumen will serve him well in his expanded role and I know he’ll continue to produce results,” he added.

At Bats, Mr. Barchetto was previously Senior Vice President, Business Development, leading various new business initiatives, while evaluating acquisition possibilities and other strategic opportunities. He joined Bats in 2014 upon the acquisition of Direct Edge Holdings, where he was Head of Corporate Strategy. At that firm, he played a lead role in facilitating the transaction with Bats and had responsibility for strategic growth initiatives and business development.

Prior to Direct Edge, he held senior positions in product, sales, operations, and business development at Liquidnet, most recently as Head of Corporate Strategy. Earlier in his career, Mr. Barchetto was a market maker with Knight Capital group before moving to Citigroup’s Lava Trading as a product manager in electronic trading.

He holds a bachelor’s degree in international economics from Georgetown University and is a Chartered Financial Analyst.
