BATS ECN Hits 400M-Share Milestone

BATS Trading Inc.'s ECN set a daily volume record Wednesday with more than 401 million shares traded, surpassing the 400-million mark for the first time.

Average volume for the month of June to date is 328 million shares, with daily volume averaging 388 million over the past six trading sessions. All figures are single-counted, matched plus routed.

"We thank our subscribers for continuing to embrace our dealer-friendly pricing model and our aggressive way of doing business," said Chief Executive Dave Cummings. "We continue to add new customers and now have about 200 firms connected to BATS."

BATS launched trading on its ECN Jan. 27, 2006.
