BATS Announces Annual Changes To BATS 1000 Index - U.S. Equities Market Benchmark Celebrates Fifth Anniversary - CDW Corporation, News Corporation, And Rite Aid Among The Companies Added To The Index

BATS Global Markets (BATS) today announced the results of the annual reconstitution of the BATS 1000® Index, a U.S. equities market benchmark, which became effective prior to market open today.

As a result of the reconstitution, a total of 21 companies will be replaced in the Index. Some of the companies being added to the Index include CDW Corporation (CDW), Kate Spade & Co. (KATE), News Corporation (NWSA), Quintiles Transnational Holdings Inc. (Q), Rite Aid Corporation (RAD), and SunEdison Inc. (SUNE).

The BATS 1000 Index, which marks its fifth anniversary today, tracks the performance of 1,000 U.S. securities within 10 equally-weighted industry sectors. The Index is rebalanced on an annual basis to assign an equal 10% weighting to each of its 10 sectors.

On Monday, June 30, the BATS 1000 Index closed at 22,139.22, up 6.32% year-to-date. The BATS 1000 Index was launched on July 1, 2009, with a base value of 10,000. Since its inception, the BATS 1000 Index is up 121.4%.
