BATS Global Markets (BATS), a leading operator of securities markets in the U.S. and Europe, reports the BATS 1000® Index (Ticker: BATSK) declined 156.14 points to close at 22,780.53, down 0.7 percent over last Friday’s close.
Two sectors that comprise the Index advanced on the week – the Financials sector was up 0.5%, and the Healthcare/Pharmaceuticals sector rose 0.4%. The remaining eight sectors declined with the Alternative Resources/Energy sector, down 2.7%, leading the decliners on the week.

The BATS 1000 Index is listings-neutral and consists of 1,000 U.S. listed securities divided equally across 10 industry sectors. The 10 sectors are adjusted annually to an equal weighting at the start of the first trading day of the third quarter.
