Banjaluka Stock Exchange - Official Opening

On Thursday, 14 March 2002, Banjaluka witnessed the official opening ceremony at the occasion of the start of trading at the Banjaluka Stock Exchange. The celebration was attended by delegates from most other southeast-European Stock Exchanges, together with some of the highest representatives of the Republic of Srpska Government, and the Prime Minister.

The Stock Exchange in Banjaluka has been established under the patronage of the Stability Pact, with the information technology of the Ljubljana Stock Exchange. The staff of Banjalucka berza, as well as other participants to the capital market in the Republic of Srpska, were also provided with appropriate training regarding the legislation and transparency and efficiency of stock exchange trading. The trading system processed first securities transactions on the day of official opening, with 20 ordinary shares traded by seven Stock Exchange members.
