Banchile Corredores De Bolsa Began Trading On Latibex As A New Member On August 17 - It Is The Biggest Broker In The Chilean Market, With A 30% Market Share In June 2004 - It Is The Second Latin American Member And The First Chilean To Join Latibex

Date 18/08/2004

Banchile Corredores de Bolsa, one of the leading brokers of the Chilean market, met all requirements necessary to become a member of the Latibex market. The company started trading on August, 17.

Banchile Corredores de Bolsa, the leading Chilean intermediary with over € 300 million traded last June and a market share of 30%, continues consolidating its position in the Chilean securities market.

Banchile Corredores de Bolsa is the second Latin-American intermediary operating on Latibex. With its incorporation, the new member will provide Latibex with greater liquidity while at the same time generating additional buy and sell offering and carrying out arbitrage trades in Chilean stocks.

Through this new admission Latibex opens a new gateway to Chile, one of the countries which draws most attention from international investors. In order to operate on Latibex, Banchile Corredores de Bolsa will use the order-routing connection system which links Bolsa de Comercio de Santiago and the Spanish market.

Banchile Corredores de Bolsa has 15 years’ experience in the Chilean and international markets, actively trading on equities, fixed income and foreign exchange markets as well as being actively involved in asset management and marketing of investment funds. Banchile Corredores de Bolsa is a subsidiary of Banco de Chile, one of the most prestigious financial firms in Latin America, with over 100 years’ history.

With its incorporation Bradesco Corretora provides Latibex with greater liquidity while at the same time generating additional buy and sell offering and carrying out arbitrage trades between both markets. Its presence also adds significant expertise and knowledge regarding the Brazilian stocks listed on the market. “Latibex has taken an important step forward to become the first market in the world to have its own intermediaries on both sides of the Atlantic, said Antonio Zoido, Chairman of Bolsas y Mercados Españoles (BME)”.

Bradesco Corretora as well as those intermediaries expected to follow, are opening up a significant gateway between their markets of origin and an overseas trading platform, such as Latibex, thus widening the scope of their business.
