Organised in conjunction with the Forward Freight Agreement Brokers’ Association, the events are designed to bring together principals, traders and potential users of Forward Freight Agreements (FFAs) and will feature speakers from a wide variety of companies including ACM/GFI, Australian Wheat Board, Cargill, Clarksons, Dry Bulk SA, Freight Investor Services, Hetco, Morgan Stanley, Navios Corporation, Noble, PVM Oil, Safety Management and Simpson Spence & Young.
Each event will kick off with a workshop led by FFA brokers aimed at the potential users of freight derivatives and will be followed by a discussion forum at which traders will talk about the challenges faced by this rapidly growing market.

Commenting on the planned events Baltic Exchange chief executive Jeremy Penn said:
“The freight derivatives industry not only relies on the Baltic Exchange to provide it with independent and accurate data against which it can settle its trades, but also as a means of enabling co-operation. We are therefore delighted to be organising these events which will bring together FFA users and brokers from around the world and hopefully stimulate further trading growth.”
He added:
“Given the numbers of shipowners and charterers based in Greece and the Far East who do not currently regularly trade FFAs, the potential for growth in this area is huge.”
