Bahrain Financial Exchange Welcomes Rt The Hon Lord Mayor Of The City Of London

The Rt Hon. the Lord Mayor of the City of London Nicholas Anstee, visited the Bahrain Financial Exchange (BFX), as part of the Lord Mayor’s visit to the Kingdom of Bahrain, where he was welcomed by Mr. Arshad Khan, Managing Director & Chief Executive Officer of the BFX and members of the executive management.

The Lord Mayor was joined by senior figures from the London financial markets from leading financial institutes including: International Financial Services London (IFSL), Baird Capital Partners Europe, Campbell Lutyens & Co, The Chartered Insurance Institute (CII), Gatehouse Bank, HSBC (Africa, South Asia), The Institute of Accountants in England and Wales (ICAEW), INVESCO, Norton Rose, SJ Berwin, Passport Capital and the Chartered Institute for securities and Investment CISI, along with delegates from the UK embassy.

Mr. Khan, welcomed the Lord Mayor and underlined that the BFX’s keen interest in contributing to furthering financial relations between the two countries. The delegation was then given a brief presentation on the BFX’s vision, strategic plans and was followed by an open discussion on the financial markets in the MENA region.

The Rt Hon Lord Mayor remarked, “It gives me great pleasure to be here at the BFX and to share in the plans and aspirations of this business. I wish the BFX every success in its endeavors to become a leading multi asset exchange in the region”.

Commenting on the visit, Arshad Khan, Managing Director and Chief Executive of the BFX, said: “We are delighted to welcome this prominent financial delegation from London and to have the opportunity to introduce the BFX and its contribution to the financial markets. There are many areas in which we can forge relationships between London and the Middle East in particular in the field of Islamic finance. I look forward to maintaining relations between our honoured guests”.

The visit was concluded with a tour of the BFX’s facilities including its fully serviced trading floor and market leading Training Institute.
