The Bahamas International Securities Exchange Limited (BISX) wishes to inform the public that due to the threat of Hurricane Dorian, BISX’s office was closed on Friday 30 August 2019 at 1 p.m. Given the unpredictable nature of hurricanes, BISX will remain closed until the hurricane passes.
Update
Hurricane Dorian struck the northwestern Bahamas on Sunday. Maximum sustained winds around the eye of the storm had reached 185 miles an hour, making it a “catastrophic” storm with “devastating winds.”
Early Monday, after the eye of the storm had reached Grand Bahama Island, the winds had slowed slightly to 175 miles an hour.
