BAA Exits FTSE 100 After 19 Years

BAA, the airport group, is to leave the FTSE 100 after nearly 19 years following its takeover by Airport Development and Investment Limited.

Replacing BAA in the blue chip index from the start of trading on 30th June 2006 will be interdealer broker ICAP, the first time the company has been in the FTSE 100. Replacing ICAP in the FTSE 250 will be Speedy Hire, the tool hire company.

BAA first entered the FTSE 100 in October 1987, and leaves after completion of the take over bid vehicle led by Spanish building group Ferrovial.
