Avelacom Expands London Presence With New Equinix LD7 PoP - The New Point Of Presence Supports Colocation And On-Demand Server Offerings For Trading Firms Accessing Both Traditional And Digital Markets Delivering Best-In-Market Network Speeds Measured By Round-Trip Latency

Date 16/12/2025

Avelacom, the global provider of low latency network and infrastructure solutions, has expanded its presence at the Equinix London data center (LD) campus in Slough with a new Point of Presence (PoP) in LD7 – one of the world’s most significant data-centre hubs for financial markets.

The new Avelacom PoP minimizes the physical distance to London-based traditional and digital asset exchanges, as well as their respective ecosystems of brokerage firms and custodians. This enables proprietary trading firms to connect faster for real-time market data and order execution. One of the most popular FX and crypto trading routes – London to Tokyo – is now delivered at under 138ms round-trip latency via fiber, and under 130ms via a hybrid fiber and microwave path.

Prior to this addition, Avelacom already operated PoPs in Equinix’s LD4, LD5, and LD8 data centres. Together with LD7, these facilities form a highly interconnected environment for trading firms, exchanges, market-data vendors, and network providers. The new LD7 deployment further strengthens Avelacom’s London footprint and supports the growing institutional demand for proximity hosting and low latency connectivity.

“Adding LD7 to our network expands the infrastructure options for our institutional clients,” says Aleksey Larichev, CEO of Avelacom. “As more exchanges move from cloud to physical environments, clients increasingly rely on colocation and dedicated connectivity to stay competitive.”
