Australian Securities Exchange: Enhancements To Listed Investment Companies Index Announced

The Australian Securities Exchange (ASX) today announces enhancements to the Listed Investment Companies (LIC) Index with the creation of two sub-indices. The creation of the ASX LIC Index was announced on 23 December 2008.

ASX LICs provide investors with an easy, low-cost way to gain access to a range of ASX-listed entities through one transaction. The ASX LIC Index, which commenced on 2 January 2009, comprises of 43 ASX LICs and adds value to advisers and investors seeking to use LICs as a part of their portfolios.

The two new sub-indices of the ASX LIC Index will allow for better tracking against either the domestic or internationally focussed LICs.

The code for the domestic LIC index is XID and the LIC International index code is XII. The code of XIC for the composite LIC index remains the same.

Data analysis of the ASX LIC indices is undertaken by S&P. Both end-of-day values and historical data are available daily on the ASX website www.asx.com.au/lmi
