ASX Responds To ASIC Requirements For Additional Special Reports

Date 22/02/2023

ASX acknowledges that the Australian Securities and Investments Commission (ASIC) has set out further requirements of ASX. ASIC requires ASX to prepare two additional special reports, as announced in ASIC’s media release today (available here).

The first of the new special reports requested by ASIC relates to the independent review into the CHESS replacement project application delivery which was commissioned by ASX last year. ASX is progressing its action plan to address the recommendations from this independent report.

The second new special report will detail ASX’s frameworks for the governance and management of portfolios, programs and projects, and assess those frameworks against international standards.

ASX will also provide ASIC with EY audits of the special reports. In line with ASIC’s expectations, ASX will make a version of the special reports and audit reports publicly available.

ASX Managing Director and CEO Helen Lofthouse said: “ASX has an ongoing program of work to enhance delivery capability and strengthen project governance. We welcome the opportunity to present this work in special reports to ASIC. In relation to CHESS replacement, good progress has already been made in the areas of solution design, quality engineering and testing, and ASX has identified recommendations which it will extend to policies and practices across the organisation.”
