ASX June Volume Update

In June 2006, 3.2 million SEATS¹ trades were transacted on ASX markets, a 48% increase on June 2005. Total SEATS trades were 18.1 million for the 6 months to June 2006 (48% increase on PCP²) and 31.6 million for the 12 months to June 2006 (40% increase on PCP).

Total billable SEATS turnover³ in June 2006 was $94.5 billion, a 26% increase on June 2005. Total billable SEATS turnover was $536.6 billion for the 6 months to June 2006 (31% increase on PCP) and $983.5 billion for the 12 months to June 2006 (27% increase on PCP).

Total Options contracts traded for June 2006 were 2.0 million, a 9% increase on June 2005. Total Options contracts traded were 11.7 million for the 6 months to June 2006 (1% decrease on PCP) and 23.1 million for the 12 months to June 2006 (2% increase on PCP).
