That is the message that will be conveyed when Ashley Fox, MEP and Leader of the Conservative Delegation in the European Parliament, meets with representatives of Barclays Bank at their London HQ on Monday.
Last week Barclays CEO, Jes Staley, commented that “I don’t believe that the financial centre of Europe will leave the city of London. There are all sorts of reasons why I think the UK will continue to be the financial lungs for Europe.” A view that Ashley shares.
“I have been impressed with the way that Barclays have faced up to the challenges of the Referendum,” said Mr Fox before the visit. “Unlike some financial institutions which seemed to panic after the result came in, Barclays remained calm and remained committed to the UK and to servicing their clients and customers across Europe.”

“British Banks have weathered many a storm. They have adapted to changing events and always come back stronger than before. I am sure that they will do so again. There will be life after Brexit.”
