Appointment Of Members To HKEx's Risk Management Committee

Hong Kong Exchanges and Clearing Limited (HKEx) welcomes the Financial Secretary's appointments of Chan Ka-lok, Fong Hup, Martin Wheatley and the reappointment of Eddie Yue as members of its Risk Management Committee (RMC). The two-year appointments, which were made under the Securities and Futures Ordinance, will take effect on 1 July 2005.

Professor Lam Kin and Leong Ka-chai will retire from the RMC on 30 June 2005. HKEx wishes to express its sincere gratitude to Professor Lam and Mr Leong for their contributions to the RMC.

Professor Chan is the Head of the Department of Finance in the School of Business and Management at the Hong Kong University of Science and Technology; Mr Fong is a Senior Adviser at Deloitte Touche Tohmatsu; Mr Wheatley is the Executive Director of the Securities and Futures Commission's Supervision of Markets Division; and Mr Yue is the Executive Director of Monetary Management and Infrastructure at the Hong Kong Monetary Authority.

From 1 July, members of the RMC will comprise:
