APAC Deal Activity YoY Up By 11.6% In Q1 2022, Finds GlobalData

Date 29/04/2022

A total of 4,511 deals (comprising mergers & acquisitions [M&A], private equity, and venture financing deals) were announced in the Asia-Pacific (APAC) region during Q1 2022, an increase of 11.6% over 4,042 deals announced during Q1 2021, according to GlobalData, a leading data and analytics company.

An analysis of GlobalData’s Financial Deals Database reveals that the deal activity in the region witnessed a fluctuating month-on-month trend during Q1 2022 with February witnessing a decline and March witnessing a solid rebound.

Aurojyoti Bose, Lead Analyst at GlobalData, comments: “Interestingly, despite the region’s key market China witnessing a decline in deal activity, the region managed to register year-on-year (YoY) growth in Q1 2022. This can be attributed to solid growth registered in other markets such as India and South Korea.”
