Antoinette Hunziker-Ebneter has been actively involved in the company for more than nine years. From 1993 to March 1995, she headed the Member Support Center for Switzerland's electronic securities exchange system (EBS) project. In the final phase of the project, she held the position of Deputy Project Manager. She assumed responsibility for the Management Services division of the project's successor organisation, the SWX Swiss Exchange, during the period between 1995 and 1997. From 1997 through 2000, Ms. Hunziker-Ebneter headed the SWX Swiss Exchange as its chief executive officer and was in charge of its Markets Division. In December 2000, she was named Chairman of the SWX Group and, in early February 2001, assumed the post of CEO of the London-based virt-x exchange.
During the period of time in which Antoinette Hunziker-Ebneter headed the company, the domestically focused SWX Swiss Exchange grew to become an internationally positioned enterprise.

The Board of Directors of SWX is the competent body for determining a successor. The Committee of the Board has proposed the SWX Group's current Deputy Head, Jürg Spillmann, to become the new Head of the SWX Group. Heinrich Henckel will continue as CEO of the SWX Swiss Exchange. The Board of Directors of virt-x plc named Peter Keller to become its new Chief Executive Officer.
