Date 18/12/2012

AB INTER RAO Lietuva is the 43rd foreign issuer listed on the WSE’s Main Market and the 5th foreign company newly listed on the market in 2012. The issuer is also the 437th company listed on the Main Market and the 18th new listing on the market in 2012.

After today’s new listing, the WSE’s two stock markets list 51 foreign companies (43 on the Main Market and 8 on NewConnect) from several dozen countries. The most numerous listings are from Ukraine, the Czech Republic, Israel and Bulgaria. Growing interest of foreign issuers and investors in the Polish capital market is a result of the strategy pursued consistently for several years aiming to strengthen the international position of the WSE, in particular in the region of Central and Eastern Europe.

“We are optimistic about the future and welcome another CEE company which has chosen the Warsaw Stock Exchange as the listing market of its stock. I must stress that our role is not limited to creating good conditions for foreign issuers to raise capital, among others by offering an adequately capacious and liquid market. We always emphasise the importance of building quality investor relations of such companies, which considerably enhances their attractiveness and exposure to investors,” said Ludwik Sobolewski, President and CEO of the Warsaw Stock Exchange.

UAB Scaent Baltic, a shareholder of Inter RAO Lietuva, offered 4,000,000 existing shares in a public offering addressed to institutional and individual investors in Lithuania and Poland. The Inter RAO Lietuva Group supplies electricity and produces electricity in a wind farm it controls in Lithuania. The issuer is also engaged in various forms of electricity trading including purchase and sale of electricity under bilateral contracts with electricity wholesalers and on the energy exchange, electricity supplies to end customers, as well as cross-border trade in electricity.
