Annual General Meeting Of EEX Supports Board In Internationalisation And Broadening Of The Product Range

Date 22/06/2005

Shareholders of the European Energy Exchange (EEX) AG in Leipzig back the course of further internationalisation and broadening of the product range of Continental Europe´s largest energy exchange. This became clear during the annual general meeting in Leipzig.

In 2004, the EEX was able to increase its revenues the fifth year in a row. Also, the result was within the midterm planning. The year was, according to Dr. Hans-Bernd Menzel, minted by implementation of the IT strategy determined at the end of 2003. The IT strategy was managed in time, partly even earlier than planned, and within the budget. Now, all participants benefit from significant synergetic effects, especially through the integrated clearing of all markets. Menzel sees the EEX as an active part in the growing competition among Europe´s trading landscape. He mainly places emphasis on cooperation on all levels: “Partnership where possible, competition where necessary.”

The Members of the Board and of the Supervisory Board had the unanimous support of the EEX shareholders. According to the cycle, the Supervisory Board was newly determined and consists now of:
