Anglo Irish Bank Corp PLC Will Replace Bayerische Hypo- und Vereinsbank AG In The S&P European Indices

Standard & Poor’s will make the following changes in the S&P Europe 350, S&P Europe Plus and S&P Euro Indices, effective at the close of trading on Friday 18th November 2005:
  • Anglo Irish Bank Corp PLC (Ireland, SEDOL B076LH4, GICS: Financials, GICS Code: 40101010) will replace Bayerische Hypo- und Vereinsbank AG (Germany, SEDOL 4325419) in the S&P Europe 350, S&P Euro Plus and S&P Euro, after the close of trading on Friday 18th November 2005. Bayerische Hypo- und Vereinsbank AG is being deleted from the S&P Europe 350, S&P Euro Plus and S&P Euro indices, following the tender offer by fellow S&P Europe 350 constituent, Unicredito Italiano SpA that now owns 88.14% of Bayerische Hypo- und Vereinsbank AG shares.

    Unicredito Italiano SpA will issue new shares in exchange for Bayerische Hypo- und Vereinsbank AG shares tendered during the offer period. Standard & Poor’s will increase the shares outstanding for Unicredito in all its European indices, including the S&P/MIB, once the final results of the offer have been made public, and the new number of shares has been confirmed by the company.

    Anglo Irish Bank Corp PLC’s number of shares outstanding is 678,865,000, and the Investable Weight Factor will be 1.00. The company will be added to the S&P Europe 350 GICS (Global Industry Classification Standard) Diversified Banks sub-industry.
