MSCI Inc. (NYSE: MXB), a leading provider of investment decision support tools worldwide, announced that Anand S. Iyer has joined the company as Managing Director, Head of Multi-Asset Class Research, based in New York. He will lead MSCI’s Multi-Asset Class research agenda with an immediate focus on opportunities in the Defined Contribution arena, and will also be responsible for developing applied research for the Fixed Income market. He will report to Remy Briand, Managing Director and Global Head of Index and Applied Research.

Mr. Iyer joins MSCI from Investcorp International where he was CIO and Head of Alternative Beta and Portable Alpha Trading. Prior to this he was a Managing Director at Morgan Stanley’s proprietary trading desk, and global head of convertible research, where he was ranked #1 by Institutional Investor Magazine. Anand has been a top ranked research team leader for over a decade and was a Managing Director at Salomon Brothers’ Equity Division. At Salomon Brothers and at Morgan Stanley, Anand helped pioneer a number of capital markets innovations relating to the convertible securities market. Anand is a CFA charterholder and has an MBA from The Wharton School of The University of Pennsylvania.
