Amsterdam, Brussels And Paris Stock Exchanges To Merge.

The Amsterdam, Brussels and Paris Stock Exchanges announce today (Monday 20 March 2000) their agreement to merge to create EURONEXT, Euroland's largest stock exchange by market capitalization and transaction volumes.

At a press conference to be held at 12:15 pm UK time at the Lancaster Suite, Savoy Hotel, London WC2, the Presidents of the Exchanges George Möller (AEX), Olivier Lefebvre (BXS) and Jean-François Théodore (ParisBourseSBF SA) will describe the rationale behind the merger and present their plans in detail.
