American Stock Exchange Offers Tribute To Tsunami Victims – A Moment Of Silence In Recognition Of Immense Devastation And Loss

Traders, floor officials and employees at the American Stock Exchange (Amex) today observed a moment of silence in recognition of the immense loss and devastation caused by a tsunami that struck parts of Thailand, India, Indonesia and elsewhere on December 26, 2004.

"We are sobered and hugely saddened by the losses sustained in this disaster," said Amex Chairman and CEO Salvatore F. Sodano. "The hopes and prayers of all of us at the Amex go out to the families of the victims and we support the global effort to deliver needed relief to these devastated areas."
